1. Information we collect

Information you give us

• Account details — your name, email address, and password (stored only as a salted hash, never in plain text).
• Workspace & brand inputs — the website URLs you submit for analysis, the resulting growth profile, and brand details, prompts, and instructions you provide.
• Content you create — ideas, scripts, captions, calendar entries, and other material you generate or edit in the Service.
• Connected accounts — when you link a third-party platform (e.g. TikTok, Instagram, YouTube), we receive the access tokens and basic account information needed to schedule and publish on your behalf.
• Support & communications — messages you send us and your preferences.

Information we collect automatically

• Usage & device data — actions you take in the Service, approximate location derived from IP address, browser and device type, and log data, used to operate, secure, and improve the Service.
• Cookies — we use a small number of essential cookies to keep you signed in and remember your active workspace. See our Cookie Policy for the full list.

Information from third parties

• Payment data— when you buy a paid plan, our payment processor (Stripe) handles your card details and shares limited information with us such as billing status and the last four digits of your card. We don't store full card numbers.
• Connected-platform data — basic profile and performance metrics returned by platforms you connect, used to show you analytics.

2. How we use information

• Provide, maintain, and secure the Service and your account.
• Analyze the sites you submit and generate content suggestions for you.
• Schedule and publish content to the platforms you connect, at your direction.
• Process payments, manage subscriptions, and prevent fraud.
• Provide support, send service and transactional messages, and — where you've opted in or as permitted by law — product updates.
• Monitor, debug, and improve the Service, including aggregated or de-identified analytics.
• Comply with law and enforce our Terms.

3. AI processing

To analyze your site and generate content, we send the relevant inputs (such as page text, your brand profile, and your prompts) to our AI provider, Anthropic, acting as our processor. We do not sell your content, and our providers are contractually restricted to processing it only to deliver the feature you requested. Please don't submit sensitive personal information you wouldn't want processed this way.

4. How we share information

We do not sell your personal information. We share it only:

• With service providers (subprocessors) who run infrastructure and features on our behalf under contract — including cloud hosting and database providers, our AI provider (Anthropic), and our payment processor (Stripe).
• With platforms you connect — to publish and retrieve analytics for the content you choose to send there.
• Within your workspace — content and activity are visible to other members of your workspace.
• For legal reasons — to comply with law, enforce our agreements, or protect the rights, safety, and property of ClipGem, our users, or the public.
• In a business transfer — as part of a merger, acquisition, financing, or sale of assets, subject to this Policy.

5. Retention

We keep your information for as long as your account is active and as needed to provide the Service. When you delete content or close your account, we delete or de-identify the associated personal data within a reasonable period, except where we must retain it to comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, or enforce our agreements. Backups are purged on a rolling schedule.

6. Security

We use technical and organizational measures designed to protect your information — including encryption in transit, hashed passwords, access-token isolation per workspace, and least-privilege database access. No method of transmission or storage is perfectly secure, so we can't guarantee absolute security.

7. Your choices and rights

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or export your personal data, to object to or restrict certain processing, and to withdraw consent. You can edit much of your data directly in the app, and you can request the rest by emailing privacy@clipgem.app. We'll respond as required by applicable law and won't discriminate against you for exercising these rights.

8. International transfers

We're based in the United States and process information there and in other countries where our providers operate. Where required, we use appropriate safeguards (such as standard contractual clauses) for cross-border transfers.

9. Children

The Service isn't directed to children under 18, and we don't knowingly collect their personal information. If you believe a child has given us data, contact us and we'll delete it.

10. Changes to this Policy

We may update this Policy from time to time. We'll change the “Last updated” date and, for material changes, provide additional notice. Continuing to use the Service after changes means you accept the updated Policy.
